My new puppy was born on Halloween. She is a Brittany and is so pretty! We will get to pick her up around Dec.23. I hope the weather holds and there not snow on the ground. I will be very disappointed if we don't get to go to Rockford to pick her up. She will be a house dog. My DOG! I love all our dogs but they are mostly hunting dogs so I am limited in how much I can spoil them (at least when Raymonds around, their master!)
I am thinking of naming her Bella. I like that name but I am still considering a few more. Brittany's are actually usually bred to be bird dogs but they make good companions too. They are quick learners and are children friendly if socialized correctly. The breeder we are getting her from does a wonderful job with that and we will continue the training when she gets here. Brittany's require a lot of exercise which means I will be spending a lot of time hiking across the fields expending her excess energy. It will be good for both of us.
I will post a picture of her as soon as I get one from the breeder. I have just seen her newborn picture so far.
Getting another dog is always exciting and lots of fun! My family just got another dog too. Her name is Molly; she is a rat terrier mix and is so cute! She is about three years old and has lots of energy. As I am writing this, I can hear her upstairs running back and forth around my house. She is such a happy dog! I told my parents that they should have named her something like joy, or bubbles, or something like that! She loves to be around people, so she is a really good companion dog. I hope things go well with your new puppy and I hope things go well with her training! Congratulations!!
ReplyDeleteIt's funny you are thinking about naming her Bella, the other night I ask my OB nurse friend what the most popular baby girl name was this year and she said Bella. Boys names she said are still traditional. My blonde cocker was named Isabell and we called her Belly. I love dogs as I'm writing this I hear Sarah in the other room playing with Tucker. Enjoy your new baby and post those pics.
